Save our Rivers Family Fun Days
Denham Country Park
29th and 30th of July
During Colne Valley Festival Fortnight we will be running two days of river focused activities for families. Come along and learn more about why it is important to look after your local river and what you can do to help! We will be running exciting activities through out the day including:
- Story Telling – Free (3 sessions per day*: 11:30/13:00/14:30)
- River Fly Dipping and Pond Making – ticket price £3 (2 sessions per day*10:30/13:30)
- Art – ticket price £3 (1 session per day*, timing to be confirmed)
- Face painting – Free (all day no booking needed)
- Colne Valley and Invasive Species area – Free (all day no booking needed)

Learn about your rivers through story telling
Join our amazing storyteller exploring our mystical rivers, the dangers they face and what is being done to save them. There are 3 sessions each day at 11:30, 13:00 and 14:30.
River Fly Dipping and Pond Making
Design and create your own mini pond that could help creatures in your garden. Then discover the amazing wildlife that lives in the magical Misbourne through river dipping! Each session is an hour long and runs from 10:30 and 13:30. Please arrive on time for the session.
Learn about your rivers through art
An exciting opportunity to contribute to a new sculpture in the Colne valley! We have an amazing artist joining us to create this masterpiece. There will be two sessions helping the artist to create this recycled piece.
Face painting
There is an professional face painter attending allowing you to become a watery creature. No need to book, just show up!
Colne Valley and Invasive Species area
Why not come along and learn more about what we do to help our rivers? We will have information areas allowing you to discover the Colne Valley and learn more about non-native invasive species. (our Space Invaders).
Pledge Booth
We will have a water saving pledge booth made from litter found in our rivers. You can pledge to save our rivers in whatever way you want (as long as it saves water).
