Footpath closure in the Colne Valley Park, affected by the HS2 works
Old Shire Lane – 6½ miles – follow ancient pathways to explore farmland, bluebell woods and the village of West Hyde.
Unfortunately due to High Speed 2 construction the Old Shire Lane, south of Chalfont lane, is shut for the next 8 years. There are no alternative footpaths therefore it is no longer possible to follow this circular walk.
Chalfont Park – 5 miles (short walk 3½ miles) – through open farmland, beech woodlands and along the River Misbourne.
Unfortunately, due to High Speed 2 construction the Old Shire Lane, south of Chalfont lane, is shut for the next 8 years. Because of the failure by HS2 to provide an alternative footpath it is no longer possible to follow this circular walk. There are no alternative footpaths therefore it is no longer possible to follow this circular walk.
The footpath closure is between the red x on the map.
