WHAT’S INVOLVED?
No previous experience is necessary. You will be working with a ranger or expert volunteers who will give you all the training and guidance you need.
We will provide all the tools. We also provide gloves but you may also wish to bring your own.
Refreshment, toilets and parking available on site.
We will plant in all weathers. Please ensure that you wear robust footwear & wrap up with lots of layers. The farm is quite exposed and we want you to stay comfortable.
How you’re going to be making a difference:-
With your help we’ll be putting 1000 trees in the ground that will enhance our landscape and provide all the ecological services that build a more nature-friendly farming system.
Creating landscapes with trees is incredibly important for a multitude of reasons, not just for carbon sequestration and wildlife, but for our livestock as well.
The shelter provided by the trees will allow sheep and cattle to regulate their temperature better across the year and provide an alternative food source for them to feed on as the grass becomes scarcer.
Thanks to The Woodland Trust and some brilliant volunteers, we’ll be able to begin the process of developing this valuable area at Woodoaks Farm.
