Please join us on the 1st August from 2.30-3.15pm at Denham Country Park for a beautiful Mindfulness Walk as part of the The Colne Valley Festival Fortnight.

The start time for the 45 minute walk is 2.30pm, meeting outside the Colne Valley Park Visitor Centre in Denham. The Mindful Walking Technique is to help you to connect with 4 of your body senses, that of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, in nature. The experience trains you to bring your full attention into the present moment, guided by nature and the weather.

There are many benefits to practising Mindful Walking. Outdoor walking improves the breathing and oxygen levels and contributes to a healthy, happy heart. Mentally, it lowers your stress levels, this is one of the most effective ways to reduce anxiety and the overthinking mind. Mindful walking had been proven to help people reduce symptoms of depression. People feel calmer and, more resilient emotionally and more relaxed. Any form of exercise is good to help improve sleep but mindful walking is particularly good as it helps develop a calmer and clearer mindset. Mindfulness practice can also enhance problem-solving skills or the cultivation of new ideas. We will walk through beautiful countryside, mostly in silence. We will remain present by paying attention to all that we see, hear, smell and touch during our walk.

The walk is not designed to be physically demanding at all. It is more focused on enjoying nature and connecting to our senses.

This walk will be led by Transformational Life Coach Suzy Roze.
