We are very disappointed, but we have had to cancel this event due to the category 1 pollution event declared by the Environment Agency which has led to pollution of the River Misbourne which in turn is affecting the River Colne.
Apologies to the volunteers and residents of Willowbank. We hope to arrange a future date instead.
Please join us to help remove Floating Pennywort Removal at Willowbank on Tuesday Feb 20 2024 at 10:00 AM! We’re gathering at Alder Road to tackle the pesky pennywort infestation together.
Pennywort, an invasive aquatic plant, has been wreaking havoc on our local ecosystem, for example by outcompeting local wildlife and increasing the risk of flooding. Let’s come together as a community and make a difference! No experience is necessary – just bring your enthusiasm and dress warmly! We’ll provide all the necessary tools and guidance to safely remove the pennywort.

What to be aware of
- There are no parking facilities available on site so you will have to park nearby or get a lift
- We will be outside
- This task requires physical work, so ensure you are prepared to get stuck in!
Transport Options
There is no parking on site, so either park at 14 Harefield Rd, Uxbridge UB8 1PH or ask for drop off options. If you need a lift contact [email protected]. Alternatively get a bus to Oakside bus station, which is a short walk from Alder Road.
