50 Years of the Unofficial Countryside

Aerial View of Lakes

50 Years of the Unofficial Countryside will bring to life the industrial heritage that shaped the Colne Valley Regional Park through a collection of oral memories and photographs.

If you or you know someone that has memories or photographs of places such as quarry works, watercress farms, grazing marsh or living and working in the regional park which contributed to shapping the Park's landscape we want to hear from you.

The project will also aim to engage with the public through:

  • Presentations to community groups

  • Creating an interactive webpage to hold the industrial heritage collection

  • Create new interpretation stations at three sites

  • Produce a  Industrial Heritage Trail Book with walks focused around the industrial heritage collected.

  • Guided walks of industrial trails
