The lakes in the Colne Valley provide some of it's most popular views.

The Colne Valley Park Conservation Volunteers undertake practical work, wildlife surveying and site wardening.

Hillingon Natural History Society exists to promote the study of the natural history of Hillingdon and record its findings.

HNHS manages Harefield Place Nature Reserve in Uxbridge by the Golf Course. The reserve is situated between Harvil Road and the lakes by the Grand Union Canal, and has borders with the golf course, Denham Country Park and the Concrete Batching Plant.

Maple Lodge is a wonderful 40 acre nature reserve consisting of lakes, marsh, hedgerows and wooded plantation. The reserve is in Maple Cross near junction 17 of the M25

Ruislip Woods Trust is a charity which aims to protect the ecological environment of Ruislip Woods and to encourage greater access by the public through education, monitoring and surveying.

The trust are currently scoping a new 'Yellow Walk' which will have a leaflet so it can be self guided. This walk is from Ruislip to Harefield.
